The DB7 Vantage combines aesthetic tradition with sportiness and timeless elegance
Aston Martin unveiled the Ian Callum-designed DB7 at the 1993 Geneva Motor Show. Production then began at the new plant in Bloxham in 1994. As early as 1996, Aston Martin supplemented the model range with a convertible, the Volante. Both models were replaced by the DB7 Vantage and Vantage Volante in 1999. Building on the success of the inline 6-cylinder DB7, the new Vantage models featured an all-new 6.0-liter, 420-horsepower V12 engine with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Developed in close collaboration with Ford and Cosworth, the V12 engine featured four valves per cylinder, dual overhead camshafts for each bank of cylinders, and a Visteon electronic control system. To cope with the massive increase in power, the chassis and suspension were modified accordingly and larger Brembo brakes were fitted. The body received more aggressive styling, a larger grille, new lighting, and 18-inch wheels. The interior, finished in leather, was created in a special workshop in Newport Pagnell. In total, Aston Martin produced 2091 units of the Volante. In 2003 the DB9 coupe replaced the DB7 series.
This vehicle is a classic car that is many years old, with some significant signs of use and wear. In addition, more or less professional restoration, conversion and paint work may have been carried out and a number of visual and technical defects may be present.
